Snowflake

February 22, 2012

I’ve been asked what the picture is on my header. It’s a snowflake. One of my nieces saw it on her glove and asked me to photograph it.

Colonel Angus

A friend of mine recently had a bad date. I was trying to make her feel better by suggesting she could always try the other team. She informed me she had and that the “V” was nothing to write home about. Well, I’ve been excited about the “V” since I was 12 and I have literally erected monuments to it’s greatness but this is not about me nor my monument.

I started thinking about what she said. “It was nothing to write home about.” I often wonder at the origin of sayings like that.  Rather than trying to find out the origin of this saying, I created what I think one of those “letters home” would look like.

“Best Chinese Food In Town”

Says so right on the menu. You like Seefood?

Seriously, they do have the best food in town!

Off With Their Thumbs!

April 13, 2011

I would love to personally remove the thumbs from the person responsible for the malicious code that has infected my computer. I have been struggling for the last few days to repair and recover my PC.

And if said person happens to read this…I wish you a prolonged and painful death. Fucker.

Big Moon, Mon!

March 20, 2011

The moon was supposed to be 22% bigger last night. It looked pretty big as it came up, but I was on the bike on the toll road and couldn’t safely pull off. By the time I got to my destination the Moon had gone from a giant yellow orb to, well… the Moon. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Moon. It’s the coolest thing in the night sky. It’s just that it looked like it always looks. If it was bigger, I couldn’t tell. Still, it was cool to look at.

Brookside Gardens

March 3, 2011

Even though the Sun was out, it still seemed like a grey day. I don’t mean depressing, just grey. Everywhere I looked it was grey. I needed some color. About a mile from my house is a park called Brookside Gardens. In the summer they have acres of plants and flowers. All year their greenhouse is open to the public. Today I walked there and took my camera.

Funk Ark

February 26, 2011

Funk Ark is a local “World Funk” band whom I’ve had the pleasure to see a few times around town. Last night they played a show at the Strathmore Mansion, in North Bethesda. (or south Rockville depending on where you’re from) This show, like their other show’s I’ve been to, was awesome. They’re a great group of musicians having fun and sounding great doing it. If you get a chance to go see them, jump on it!

I’m not a reviewer. So don’t read this as a review. It’s more like a description and suggestion.

Another one of my nieces pieces. These girls really move me! This one was a Christmas gift for Gane (Grandma).
