I’m flicking back and forth between “The Mentalist” and “The Big Bang Theory” . I’m out of cigars, so I’m smoking a Black and Mild. As I stare at the cursor flashing at me, daring me to write something original, I catch a whiff of the little cigar. It’s sweet, pipe tobacco actually. Immediately, I think of my friend Steve. We spent hours in his basement office sharing stories, talking of books and movies and women. Steve always smoked Black and Milds. Fylo, his cat would jump from Steve’s desk to mine looking for attention. It seems so long ago, those care free days hanging with Steve and Fylo. Fylo passed unexpectedly in 2008 and Steve met a great lady and moved to South Carolina. I haven’t seen him in years, though I think about him often. After Fylo passed I made this video slideshow for Steve.

I posted last year about my trips to Canton PA. This past New Years we had three awesome dogs with us. My friend Stacey was able to get all three to sit still long enough for me to capture the moment. Not an easy feat, Bee Bee and Bennie never sit still and Sookie was just a few months old. Still, Stacey did it, and here’s the proof. Love those dogs.

Chewed up Balls

March 19, 2012

I love animals, and not just the kind you eat. No, I mean the pet kind. Dogs, cats, and…well mostly those kinds. Anyway, I was invited to a friends house for diner/visit and I got to met their new (to me) pets. Serious is a year old German shepherd, and Misty is a cute little beagle. Both were rescued. Both were just full of love and playfulness. I brought gifts for my friends 3 boys. Next time I’ll also bring some tennis balls.

Ew, Seriously? So Gross.

March 15, 2012

Make no mistake. I hate Geico. I hate the lizard. I hate the cavemen. I hate Maxwell, the ugly fat little pig. I realize i’m in the minority on that one. I’m so offended by the frequency and content of their commercials that I would never consider spending a dime with them. But, something strange happened recently. Someone at Geico made me laugh. Twice, now that I think about it. First it was the “Woodchucks” Chucking wood. Then it was the High School “Popular Girls” following the cheap wanna-be dieter. So reminded me of my nieces. I still wouldn’t buy insurance from them…unless…they made my commercial. The camera pans in…the gecko is trying to tell the cave man about Geico insurance. The caveman bites the head off the gecko, as he chews, a T-rex gobbles up the caveman…pull back to see Maxwell roasting over an open fire… on the ground in front of the fire we see a pinwheel and hear a faint, echoing “Weeeeeeee…” …and fade to black! I know…”dude, that is so totaly gross”.

Such A Tease

March 9, 2012

She smiled and closed her eyes.

I could hear her breathing fast.

It was obvious she enjoyed my touch.

Every time I stopped, she begged for more.

She rolled over onto her back.

I couldn’t resist her, even though I knew she just wanted to play.

So…

I threw the ball…and she fetched it.

“Good Girl!” I said, but she wouldn’t let it go.

She’s such a tease.
